Our engine studies your image the way a portrait painter would: mapping light direction, dominant tones, edge contrast, and areas of visual interest. Faces are treated with extra care — the software gives more strokes and more time to the eyes, mouth, and cheekbones.
You choose from ten curated palettes (Renoir, Van Gogh, Sargent, contemporary oil, classic watercolor, and more) or work with Amelia on a custom palette. The palette determines pigment mixing, warmth, and edge softness.
Before a single stroke is placed, the engine plans the sequence: long, wet-into-wet sweeps for skies; short, dry strokes for hair; palette-knife dabs for foliage. This plan is what makes the finished piece read as a painting instead of a texture overlay.
The engine paints in layers, just as a person does. Underpainting first, then mid-tones, then a slow accumulation of highlights and edge work. A typical portrait takes 40–90 minutes of compute time and produces a 100-megapixel master file.
Every commission is opened by Nancy or Amelia before it goes further. We check likeness, warmth, and stroke direction; if anything is off, we retune and re-run the paint. This step is why nothing ever ships that looks generic.
Approved masters are printed on 400 gsm cotton canvas using pigment inks, then hand-stretched over 1.5″ kiln-dried pine bars in our studio.
Nancy signs the reverse of every canvas with the date, style, and edition. We pack in double-walled crates and ship worldwide with tracking.
