Privacy Policy
PaintBot Studio, LLC (“PaintBot”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through paintbot.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact details — name, email address, and (optional) phone number when you email us, submit our contact form or place a commission.
- Commission content — the photographs and instructions you send us to paint.
- Payment information — billing details are handled by our payment processor (Stripe, Inc.); we do not store your card number on our servers.
Information collected automatically
- Log data — IP address, user agent, referring URL, and time of visit, retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostics.
- Cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How we use your information
- To fulfil your commission, respond to enquiries, and provide customer support.
- To improve our website and the quality of the paintings we produce.
- To send occasional service emails (order updates, shipping notifications). We do not send marketing email without an explicit opt-in.
- To comply with applicable laws, including tax and accounting obligations.
3. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share only with the service providers necessary to run the business: our payment processor (Stripe), our web host (managed by our IT provider in Richmond, VA), our shipping partners (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL), and our email provider. Each is bound by contract to use your information only for the purpose we’ve engaged them.
4. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please email admin@paintbot.com. We will respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.
5. Data retention
Commission photographs and correspondence are retained for seven years so we can honour our lifetime touch-up service. You may request earlier deletion by writing to us.
6. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and follow industry-standard practices to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account or data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
7. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced by email to active customers.
